ATEX / UKCA Clarification
Why our ATEX-certified products are fully compliant for use in the UK
There has been much discussion regarding the transition from the European "CE" marking to the British "UKCA" marking. For your facilities in the UK, the situation is straightforward: products with an EU ATEX certificate remain legally compliant and accepted.
Here are the three main reasons why you can continue to use our products with complete confidence:
1. Indefinite Recognition of the CE Mark
Although the UK government introduced its own marking (UKCA), they have officially announced that the European CE mark for most product groups—including ATEX equipment—will continue to be recognized indefinitely. This means you do not need to wait for specific UK-only certificates; the European standards we adhere to are legally sufficient.
2. Identical Safety Standards
The UK’s regulations for explosive atmospheres (known as DSEAR) are still based on the exact same technical requirements as the European ATEX directives. Because the underlying safety standards (such as the IEC 60079 series) are international, an ATEX-certified product automatically meets British safety expectations.
3. Smooth Inspections and Audits
UK Health & Safety inspectors are fully accustomed to ATEX and CE certifications. Since our products are technically identical to UK requirements, the accompanying documentation and certificates will integrate seamlessly into your local risk assessments and site audits.
In short: By choosing our ATEX/IECEx-certified products, you are selecting a solution that complies with the law in both the EU and the UK, without the burden of extra paperwork or the need for re-certification.
